Themes, fonts and app icons in SoundLeaf for Audiobookshelf on iPhone

SoundLeaf has 34 themes, separate light and dark choices, seven font styles, seven text sizes and 55 app icons. Here's where to change each one.

SoundLeaf has 34 themes, seven font styles, seven text sizes and 55 app icons. They all live in Settings > Appearance, under Visual Preferences.

Six themes, three app icons, every font style and every text size are free. Pro and Supporter unlock the rest (see Free, Pro and Supporter).

How many themes are there?

34, in three groups on the Theme screen:

GroupCountExamples
Free Themes6Light, Dark, Sunset, Ivory, Nordic, Midnight
Pro Themes20Paper, Ocean, Forest, Espresso, Neon, the four Catppuccin themes
Supporter Themes8Gold, Burgundy, Orchid, Evergreen, Ember, Lagoon, Moss, Parchment

A locked theme shows a lock. Tap it and SoundLeaf opens the Premium screen. Supporter includes every Pro theme as well.

Can I use one theme in light mode and another in dark mode?

Yes.

  1. Open Settings > Appearance > Theme.
  2. Turn on Match iPhone appearance (on iPad it says iPad, on a Mac it says Mac).
  3. Choose Light mode and pick a theme, then choose Dark mode and pick another.

SoundLeaf then switches theme when your iPhone switches between light and dark. Each mode only lists themes made for it, so a dark theme won’t show up in the light mode list.

Turn the switch off to use one theme all the time.

How do I change the app’s font?

Settings > Appearance > Typography has seven font styles:

StyleWhat it looks like
OriginalThe familiar SoundLeaf lettering
BookishLiterary titles with simple, clear text
StorybookPlump, playful lettering from a storybook
NotebookHandwritten, like notes in a book’s margins
TypewriterClean, inked lettering with a typewriter feel
CozySoft, rounded letters
ClearDistinct letter shapes, simple and open

These change the lettering across the app. The font inside an ebook is separate: set it in the reader, or in Settings > Reading & listening. See the ebook reader.

How do I make the text bigger?

Text Size on the Appearance screen goes from Tiny to Huge, seven steps, with Medium in the middle. Tap minus or plus to change it.

It changes the app’s text, not a book’s. The ebook reader has its own size control.

What is Card Display Style?

Card Display Style sets how book and show covers are drawn: Classic or Modern. Try both and keep the one you like.

How do I change the app icon?

  1. Open Settings > Appearance > App Icon.
  2. Tap an unlocked icon. iOS shows a short message saying the icon changed. A locked icon opens the Premium screen instead.

There are 55 icons:

Supporter33Botanical, Precious, Artisan, Nocturne

Supporter unlocks the Pro icons too.

What else is on the Appearance screen?

The Home settings: the listening stats style for each library, and reordering or hiding Home sections. See browsing your library.

Interface options:

  • Show Section Icons puts an icon beside each shelf name on the Home screens.
  • Shrink Tab Bar on Scroll turns the tab bar into a button as you scroll down. It’s there on iOS 26 or later.
  • Draw Missing Covers makes a cover from the title when your server has no artwork.
  • In Progress Row and Finished Row set where those shortcuts appear.
