Terms and Conditions

1. User Account & Access

SoundLeaf is a client application that connects to your personal Audiobookshelf server. Users are required to have their own Audiobookshelf server to use this application. We do not host or provide server infrastructure. Your server credentials are stored securely on your device and are only used to connect to your server.

2. Usage Restrictions

Users are solely responsible for ensuring they have the necessary rights and permissions for any audiobook content they stream or download through their Audiobookshelf server. SoundLeaf does not provide any content and is not responsible for the legality of content accessed through user servers.

3. Liability Limitations

SoundLeaf is provided "as is" without any warranties, express or implied. We are not responsible for content hosted on users' personal Audiobookshelf servers or any server connectivity issues. We make no guarantees regarding app availability, reliability, or compatibility with specific server versions.

4. Privacy & Data Collection

4.1 Local Data Storage

We store the following data locally on your device:

  • Server URLs and connection settings
  • Playback progress and position
  • App preferences and settings
  • Downloaded audiobook files (when enabled)

4.2 Data Security

Your server credentials and authentication tokens are stored securely in the iOS Keychain. We do not collect, transmit, or store this information on our servers. All communication is directly between your device and your Audiobookshelf server.

4.3 Third-Party Services

The app integrates with the following services:

  • Your personal Audiobookshelf server
  • Apple's iCloud for backup and restore (optional)
  • iOS system audio and playback services

5. User Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access and delete any locally stored data through iOS Settings
  • Opt out of iCloud backup for app data
  • Remove server connections and cached content
  • Control media download and storage settings

6. Subscriptions & Purchases

SoundLeaf offers two in-app purchases through the Apple App Store, both covering the same premium feature set:

  • Pro — a one-time, non-consumable purchase. Unlocks premium features (offline downloads, smart downloads, premium themes, and listening stats) permanently for your Apple ID.
  • SoundLeaf Supporter — a yearly auto-renewing subscription. Unlocks the same premium features as Pro, plus a Supporter badge in Settings and an optional listing on the Patron Wall.

6.1 Length and Price

The current price and billing period for each purchase are displayed on the Premium screen before you buy, in your local currency.

6.2 Auto-Renewal and Cancellation

The Supporter subscription automatically renews at the end of each subscription period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID is charged upon confirmation of purchase and again at each renewal. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID subscription settings (Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on iOS). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access until then.

6.3 Refunds

All refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with Apple's App Store refund policy. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.

6.4 Patron Wall

Listing your name on the Patron Wall is optional and only available to Supporter subscribers. By submitting a display name, you agree that it will not be abusive, misleading, infringing, or impersonate another person or entity. We reserve the right to remove or modify any display name that, in our judgment, violates these standards, with or without notice.

7. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Users will be notified of significant changes through app updates or notifications. Continued use of the application constitutes acceptance of updated terms.
