About

## Hi, I'm Hemant.

I’m Hemant Kumar, the developer of SoundLeaf. I also write the app’s guides and comparisons on this site.

### It started with a full beta

In 2025, my wife couldn’t join the Audiobookshelf iOS beta because it was full. So I built her an app. A perfectly reasonable response to a waiting list, obviously.

That app became SoundLeaf: a place for our audiobooks, ebooks and podcasts, with the little details that make listening and reading feel good every day.

### Built for Audiobookshelf

SoundLeaf is an independent client for Audiobookshelf. It connects to your server and your library. A heartfelt thank you to the Audiobookshelf maintainers and community: their work made all of this possible.

Explore [how SoundLeaf works](https://soundleafapp.com/docs/), read [what’s new](https://soundleafapp.com/blog/), or see [how it compares with other apps](https://soundleafapp.com/compare/). These comparisons are written by SoundLeaf’s developer, with that perspective made clear.
